Discover the Best Eats in Lafayette and West Lafayette: My Top Favorite Spots

Living and working as a realtor in Lafayette and West Lafayette gives me a great excuse to explore the local dining scene—and today I want to share some of my family’s favorite places to eat around Tippecanoe County. Whether you’re new to the area or a longtime local, these spots offer something special and delicious.

Nine Irish Brothers: Authentic Irish Pub Experience

If you’re in the mood for classic Irish fare and a cozy pub atmosphere, Nine Irish Brothers is the place to go. This authentic Irish pub has two locations in West Lafayette—one on the Levee (the original) and another near the mall on the east side. Both serve up hearty dishes like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, fisherman’s pie, and Guinness stew that taste just like they do across the pond.

The vibe here is unbeatable, with a warm, welcoming environment perfect for a casual night out. Whiskey lovers will appreciate the extensive selection available, and the back porch seating adds a nice touch for warmer days. Personally, I’m partial to the original West Side location, but you really can’t go wrong with either.

Azip Pizza: Fast-Fired, Customizable, and Unique

For pizza lovers, Azip Pizza is a local gem that my family can’t get enough of. The concept is simple but brilliant: you customize your pizza with any toppings you want, watch it cook right in front of you, and then dig in. It’s fast-fired pizza done right.

What makes Azip stand out is its origin story and unique ingredients. Founded by a Purdue walk-on football player who won the Burton Morgan Entrepreneurship Competition, Azip brings a slice of Evansville’s flavor to Lafayette. They incorporate regional specialties like Grippos barbecue chips and Ski soda into their pizzas, creating fun, unexpected flavor combinations. One popular pizza features a Ski reduction drizzle and crushed Grippos chips for a crunchy, spicy kick. If you’re on the east side of Lafayette, Azip is definitely worth a visit.

Silver Dipper: The Ice Cream Destination

No meal is complete without dessert, and Silver Dipper is our go-to ice cream spot in the Lafayette area. With two locations—one near campus on the Levee and another on Sagamore Parkway—Silver Dipper serves premium Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream from Madison, Wisconsin.

Their flavor lineup is impressive year-round. In the summer, I love the lemon meringue and key lime flavors, while fall brings seasonal favorites like pumpkin pie. During the holidays, peppermint stick is a must-try. Whether you’re grabbing a cone after dinner or treating the kids, Silver Dipper never disappoints.

These spots—Nine Irish Brothers, Azip Pizza, and Silver Dipper—are some of my top picks for great food and atmosphere in Lafayette and West Lafayette. If you have favorite restaurants or hidden gems in the area, I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
