Purdue’s Legacy in Space
Purdue University, often called the cradle of astronauts, has once again made headlines as two of its graduates were selected for NASA’s newest class of astronauts. This brings the total number of Purdue alumni in the astronaut corps to an impressive 20%, a testament to the university’s strong reputation in engineering and aerospace.
Meet the New Astronauts
Adam Furman, a major in the US Air Force, holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from MIT and a master’s in Flight Test Engineering from the US Air Force Test Pilot School. He also earned a master’s in Systems Engineering from Purdue. Yuri Kubo, originally from Columbus, Indiana, is a double Boilermaker, having earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue.
